Fructooligosaccharides are mainly used to selectively promote the growth of Bifidobacterium, lactic acid bacteria, Streptococcus, and indirectly to promote animal growth and health promotion. Fructooligosaccharides are considered as Bifidobacterium proliferation factor.Bifidobacteria are considered to be dominant bacteria in healthy animals and play an important role in maintaining the balance of intestinal bacteria in animals.
Fructooligosaccharides powder and syrup have good water solubility, high temperature resistance, inhibition of starch aging, non-coloring, alkali resistance, water retention. These characteristics are conducive to a variety of feed production, added to green and healthy feed, reduce the use of antibiotics, is conducive to the healthy growth of animals.

Fructooligosaccharides (FOS)application in main feedstuffs:

1. Adding 0.5% to basal diets: a 12% increase in daily feed intake, a 20% increase in daily average gain, and a 30% decrease in diarrhea were detected. In pigs, the serum immunoglobulin increased by 30% in 28 days, demonstrating that the addition of fructooligosaccharides increased the immunity of pigs, especially piglets.

3. The commercial Lecithin types and production in China

Soy Lecithin as the most important resource of phosphatidylcholine (PC),it is commercially produced in large quantity to used in food industry,feed industry, chemicals,and pharmaceuticals,it is classified according to the production control system and the raw materials:

1.  crude soy lecithin oil, this product directly extract from the soy bean oil and meat mill from the end of the processing, it is dark brown thick paste or fluid, the viscosity is over 10000 Cps, it is not easily direct usage in chemicals and feed industry, need to process it again for different application. In China, over 80% of the crude soy lecithin oil is GMO since the major soy bean mills import soy bean from US, Brazil.

2. Modified soy lecithin oil. this type of soy lecithin oil is processed by use of Organic Reactions to change the molecular structure of a phospholipid to improve or enhance the functional properties of a phospholipid. Chemically modified soy lecithin has good hydrophilic properties in the feed additive, the liquid feed preparation and chemicals industry.
3.  De oil soy lecithin. To remove the oil from the crude soy lecithin oil, people can get the more concentrated phospholipid, basically 95%-98% (acetone insoluble), it can be made properly in powder form or granular form according to the usages.

   1) Soy Lecithin Solid (Powder/granular) GMO, the raw material is from the GMO soy beans, in China, the production quantity is over 5000MT per year, the powdered soy lecithin widely used in feed and food where GMO acceptable.
